Below is the text of a letter to be forwarded by Aberdeen City Council to all Allotment tenants in Bucksburn on 28th January 2009

Dear allotment tenant

Bucksburn Allotments Association

Some of the allotment tenants at the Sclattie Quarry allotment site have recently formed an allotments association and named it Bucksburn Allotments Association. I write to you as a tenant of the Sclattie Quarry site and as Acting Secretary of the Association. We are keen to ensure that all allotment tenants on the Sclattie Quarry and Bankhead sites are aware of our existence and know they have the opportunity to join with us.

The Council is extremely keen to encourage the formation of Allotment Associations and has agreed to forward this communication to you.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Bucksburn Allotments Association, or as we hope joining us as a member, would you please get in touch to provide me with the following contact details:

Name

Address

Telephone

Email

Allotment location and Number(s)

The present members of Bucksburn Allotments Association have yet to formally adopt a constitution and to appoint office bearers.  It is intended to call a general meeting of members to attend to these matters shortly after tenants are made aware of the existence of the Association and have had an opportunity of contacting us.

Yours faithfully

Frank  Taylor

(Acting) Secretary
